Title:  BN 5567
Description:  5567, a C30-7 was delivered in January 1979 and passed to Nebraska Northeastern (NENE) on retirement in 1990. Sister C30-7, 5364 was new almost 4 years earlier and was gone by 1990. The CNW SD40-2 was destroyed in an accident in 2003 at Des Plaines, IL and cut up at Proviso UT without receiving its new UP number. The photo location is unknown and the date is a guess.

Description:  CNW 6930 leads a 200 series TV train into the Garden at Oak Island yard in Newark. Interestingly enough CR 6247 was rebuilt from a wreck earlier in its life then in 2002 the 6930 was involved in a wreck that ended its life.

Description:  CNW SD40-2 6930 leads an Eastbound frieght on the former GTW through Mishawaka, IN in February of 2002. This would be the last time I would see a pure CNW SD40-2 in operation. Sadly, in October of the same year, this unit was involved in a collision in Illinois and never returned to service... farewell, old friend. Scanned from print.

Northbound UP Manifest Train With CNW 6930 and SSW 9652
Title:  Northbound UP Manifest Train With CNW 6930 and SSW 9652
Description:  A lashup made up of Operation Lifesaver CNW 6930 SD40-2 and SSW 9652 GP60 move UP Train MNLPR 23 through the Bluff. CNW 6930 was wrecked a year later and scrapped, sadly. Cotton Belt 9652 lives and soldiers on unpatched. The 6930 would be one of the 5 CNW's I would photograph in revenue service. The sad part is that it rolled over and was destroyed in a UP derailment at Des Plaines, Illinois on 10-21-02 and was later cut up for scrap at Proviso, IL during December 2002. I guess it would rather meet the torch rather than a UP Patch. Thanks to IKE for photo restoration help.
