IC TR 1026B |
Description: |
IC TR2B 1026B, Markham Yard, near Chicago, Illinois, June 27, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in February 1940 as TR 9203B (c/n 1032B) on EMD Order E286, it was renumbered to 1026B during 1956, rebuilt to SW13B 1300B during 1972, and went to PAL in 1986. As best I can determine, the TR2A and TR2B designations had not (yet) been designed when the TR's were built in 1940. Also seen is IC 201, a 2-4-4T suburban locomotive which participated in the 1948 Wheels-A-Rolling Chicago Railroad Fair. This was a fantrip, I don't recall the details, except that this scene was set up for us by the IC, and there is another railfan in this photo, waiting for me to get out of his shot. |
