CNJ 4-6-2 #832 - Central RR of New Jersey |
Description: |
Very early photo of the 1928 Baldwin built 4-6-2 Pacific. This appears to be one of the three in the class to be painted blue for service pulling the famed Blue Comet varnish. As it appears with no road grime anywhere, this might be a CNJ photo just after the paint was applied. Specs - class G3s, 79" drivers, impressive 230 psi boiler pressure, 26x28" cylinders, engine weight of 326,470 lb, tractive effort of 46,841 lb. No exact date or location given for this photo.
