NKP 2 Handcar cart - Nickel Plate Road
Title:  NKP 2 Handcar cart - Nickel Plate Road
Description:  This cart attached to the NKP handcar would carry the tools to the worksite . . . but would add just that much more dead weight to be moved by "arm muscle power"!!!

Title:  NYC 1 - New York Central
Description:  Comparing a modern powered NYC speeder to the manual NKP handcar really denotes the advances in railroading that 75 years can make.

NYC 1 - New York Central
Title:  NYC 1 - New York Central
Description:  Simple, straight forward controls and bare essentials in side panels, this NYC speeder sits next to the extremely busy CSX tracks, ones that it must have run up and down on inspection tours years ago.

NYC 1 - New York Central
Title:  NYC 1 - New York Central
Description:  Definitely "air conditioned" with its open sides and rear, this speeder would be far easierand faster to use than the older handcar.

NYC 1 - New York Central
Title:  NYC 1 - New York Central
Description:  The face of the NYC speeder almost has a startled human look to it, with its "glass eyes" wide open and with the dwarf signal in front of it looking almost like a mouth with a surprised "oh"!!!

Girard Equipment Shack - not a Marx whistling station!!!!
Title:  Girard Equipment Shack - not a Marx whistling station!!!!
Description:  Those of us who had the whistling Marx station reminisce when seeing this building name at the museum. Not its namesake or prototype for Marx for sure but still brings a smile of recognition of childhood days! (and some adult days for those of us who still have the station!) Bet it hears a lot of CSX whistles daily!
