Album Info:The East Chicago ArcelorMittal steel plant (former Inland Steel) uses a fleet of flat cars for intra-plant movements. With the vantage point of a walkway over the Norfolk Southern, Indiana Harbor Belt, and Elgin Joliet & Eastern tracks in the heart of the steel plant, I caught this line of empty flatcars being shuffled around the plant by an SW1500 switcher. Interesting to note are the nicknames painted on some of the flatcars. Sure makes it easier to identify the car than a series of numbers.
