Album Info:North Pemberton Railroad Station was built in 1892 by John S. Rogers and added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 23, 1978. The station became inactive in 1969 when rail service between Pemberton and Camden ended. The Township of Pemberton now owns the station and operates it as the North Pemberton Railroad Station Museum, a museum of regional history. Many station documents, books and other artifacts were ruined or damaged when Hurricane Irene flooded the station basement last weekend.

Description:  From what I've found out, this former CNJ caboose actually started life as a box car. A lot of work was done to rebuild/the side near the end of 2007.

1938 or '39 Railbus
Title:  1938 or '39 Railbus
Description:  A Railbvs used by the Provost Marshall of Fort Dix to transport prisoners. I've read two things about the prisoners- they were moved from the Fort to Mt. Holly for court and they were moved around fou track work (gangs). I have also rkad it was used around the base for security. I have two build years for this- 1938 or 1939.

Pemberton Station
Title:  Pemberton Station
Description:  The mayor of Pemberton has disapproved of the township's Historic Trust group's aquistion of rcilroad equipment and denied access to the station. After the heavy rain and wind of Hurricane Irene, the basement flooded and ruined many artifacts. Whats salvagable is outside air-drying. The Trust would've been able to move everything and prepare the station if their access wfsn't denied to the building. To the left, out of view, are picnic benches full of paperwork and pamphlets air-drying.
