Elsewhere in this album is a fine photograph by my friend Esther Fairchild of CSX "road slug" 2270 at Winchester, Virginia in August of 2011. Here is the same 2270 at Gary, Indiana in the Winter of 1988 wearing a much less attractive (to me, at least) coat of dull gray paint. Proof that some things DO get better as they age! (as always with me, "date approximate"). Note that in my picture the 2270 is mated to the 6489; Esther's picture shows it with the 6463! |
