Album Info:Those familiar with the modern day LW think of a large fleet of paper boxcars, flats and centerbeam cars. This road does actually exist, if only on a couple of rarely used miles of track in South Georgia. The LW leased a SW1 from Southern, and used the line for car storage until conditions like the ones seen in this album curtailed it. As a result, much like the Hartford and Slocumb RR, the LW reporting marks now represent a huge car leasing company who maintains a railroad only so they can use the reporting marks. Here is the line in its last days of operation. I would worry that even that light-footed SW-1 could make a trip without hitting the ground a few times!

Title:  Varous Shots of the Louisville and Wadley RR in South Georgia
Description:  By the time the pictures were taken in this album somewhere in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the LW still represented an operational railroad with leased Southern Railway SW power and car storage. The railroad now exists as a short lead off the ex CofGA main and lends its reporting marks to a large railcar leasing entity more than as an operating railroad
