WWF 10 punning light as it enters yard limits |
Description: |
Track structure enthusiasts: note how the joints on 2-foot gage track are not staggered; they're adjacent to each other, and on top of a crosstie. Normal practice in larger gages is tw stagger the joints so as to reduce pounding to one side only at at time. It was found in 2-foot gage that staggering the joints tended to set up a rocking motion that could harmonically amplify, so the side-by-side joints scen just forward of the engine's pilot are correct to 2-foot gage prototype. |
