Description:  Former L&N U23B 2810 was working as the FLOMATON SWITCHER at the north end of the Seaboard System's Flomaton yard. The coal tower was built in 1943 and stradles the two main tracks, but it saw less than ten years of use before steam disappeared from this part of the L&N.

Description:  L&N 6641 -- one of the Seaboard System's newest cabooses -- is on the rear of train No. 606 as it heads for Pensacola and points east. The L&N got 50 of these from Fruit Growers Express in early 1981, so the car is only four years old.

Description:  Seaboard System train No. 522 - with GP40 6742 and GP16 4627 - was meeting No. 613 - with SD45-2's 3612 and 3617 (both in Clinchfield black) and SD45 2018. On the right was the Flomaton Switcher, U23B 2810, and visible above the switcher's cab was the concrete coaling tower which straddles the two main tracks.

Description:  The motive power on Jacksonville-New Orleans train No. 605 passes the caboose on the southbound STELLA TURN. No. 605 had GP38-2 6024, GP35 1108, and GP40's 6709 and 6654; while the cab on the TURN was L&N 6200. No. 605 handled traffic for the UP (MP).
