NS 11K
Title:  NS 11K
Description:  If I'd known that the first two trains I'd shoot when I went digital would be led by an SD40-2 and a GP38-2, consecutively, I'd have done it a while ago :-) Today's 11K is an Altoona-Conway job with a consist an EMD fan like me can appreciate!

What a Nice Surprise!
Title:  What a Nice Surprise!
Description:  NS 18G slowly follows ore train 406 east at Cresson, PA, with a pair of blue ex-Conrail units as the sole power. The light was pretty poor for this, but I figured it was worth posting anyway. A nice sight to see for this Conrail fan!

NS 643 Power
Title:  NS 643 Power
Description:  The power that brought in the empties was a glorious set of 3 blue SD60I's, yet another treat this weekend had in store. The helpers for RJC-1 had problems, so the Pittsburgh East Dispatcher chose to run this set of power east as well as change out two sets of helpers before finally adding the help to RJC-1.

Coming Down Through Town
Title:  Coming Down Through Town
Description:  The RJC-1 rolls through downtown Ashville, PA, on its way to the Fallen Timber loadout. It's a busy shot...but what a neat scene! Unfortunately, showers moved in quickly after this, and we were done for the day before the train was loaded for the run back to Cresson. We retired back to town to drink beer. Later that night, we headed back to the grade to watch and listen to the EMD's lift 58 cars of coal up the grade--what a great way to end the weekend!
