and I headed straight into the shining sun |
Description: |
The 2880 is well into Run 7 or 8 to make the 10mph track speed into Artesia yard only to have to set and wait and wait some more. The sun was blazing this late Febuary evening, looking more like a late October evening. |

Try to set the night on FIRE! |
Description: |
My friend Derrick and Phillip Wages bring the CAGY Xtra West into KCS' yard at Artesia under a setting sun. Now I see what people mean when they say sometimes the setting sun makes the sky appear to be on fire. |

Moving at Don Knotts Strength |
Description: |
With 3 hoppers and 2 mty and unwanted cars the Job 47 got stuck with with nowhere to set them out at, CAGY 1002 gets out of town at Columbus and makes the "Lux" run. The 1oo2 would later die out on the crew about an hour after this pic was taken and it was a rather warm June day. My friend Derrick is at the throttle and came on duty at 7am and they would not get back to Columbus until 6:45pm with literal seconds to spare before he went on the law. |

CAGY 1002 |
Description: |
C&G 1002 waddling west on Job 47 making its way to make the "Lux" run. This engine would later die on the crew about 45 min after this pic was taken. Not a pleasant happening when the temps would hit the low 90's and just add the fact that this little jewel doesn't have an a/c other than a kicked open door which does not a bit of good if you aren't moving. |
