Album Info:These are some older/original b&w photos of Milwaukee Road ALCo S2 diesels taken by an unknown photographer. The prints are 2 1/2 x 4 1/4" size from Kodak 116 film that have been scanned and brightness adjusted. These are all new to the RRPA data base.

Description:  This Alco S2 yard switcher was built in September of 1945 as MILW #1658 (serial #73633). Somewhere in tis life ti was renumbered to MILW #833 before it was retired and scrapped at the Milwaukee Road shops in 1963. Specs - 10-AS class, 1000 hp, engine weight of 233,000. Unknown photographter.

Description:  Here is one of the earliest Alco S2 on the Milwaukee Road roster, MILW #1673, built in October of 1940. It was later renumbered MILW 823 before being retired and scrapped at the Milwaukee Shops in 1963. Specs - 10-AS class, 1000 hp, engine weight of 230,000 lb. Unknown photographer.

Title:  MILW Alco S2 # 1678 - Milwaukee Road
Description:  Built by Alco in November of 1947 as MILW #1678, it was later renumbered 838. Eventually the switcher was sold to the US Government sometime between 1960-65. Specs - 10-AS class, 1000 hp, engine weight of 233,00 lb. An unknown photographer took this photo using Kodak 116 film for a print size of 2 3/8 x 4 1/4" that was scanned.

Description:  This is one of the earlier Alco S2's built in September of 1943 as MILW #1666 (serial #69935). It was renumbered later as MILW #825 before being scrapped at the Milwaukee Shops in 1963.
