It appears as if this 2-8-2 Mikado has reached the end of its service to the Canadian National Rwy. Its headlight is missing, the stained cab window closed and an empty tender all point to sitting in a scrap line although no date accompanied the photo to confirm it. Specs - serial #1673, class S-1-e, 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 276,000 lb, tractive effort of 53,113 lb. The loco was retired and scrapped in October of 1961. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo. |
