Description:
Just pulling out with another string of Canadian National varnish from the Montreal station is CN #5702. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in September of 1930, the 4-6-4 Hudson cut a sharp figure at the head of many passenger trains through the years. After nearly 30 years of service to the CN, the loco was retired and donated to the Canadian Historical Rwy Association ("ExoRail") in Delson, Ontario, Canada. Specs - serial #68396, class K-5-a, 80" drivers, impressive 275 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 356,400 lb, tractive effort of 43,279 lb. CN 4-6-4 #5700
Description:
Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in September of 1930, this spectacular 4-6-4 Hudson headed up the crack varnish of the Canadian National Ray. After serving the CN for nearly 31 years, the locomotive was scheduled to be preserved but was accidentally scrapped in November of 1961.To make up for it, CN #5703 was renumbered as 5700 and donated to the NMST in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Currently the cab of #5700 (nee-5703) is on display at the Elgin County Rwy Museum in St Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Specs - serial #68394, class K-5-a, 80" drivers, impressive 275 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 356,400 lb, tractive effort of 43,279 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so approximates were used.

Description:
Here is another fine example of a Montreal Locomotive Works 4-6-4 Hudson built in September of 1930. Note the fireman on top of the tender filling it with water from the standpipe. Specs - serial #68396, class K-5-a, 80" drivers, impressive 275 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 356,400 lb, tractive effort of 43,279 lb. After nearly 30 years of service to the CN, the loco was retired and donated to the Canadian Historical Rwy Association ("ExoRail") in Delson, Ontario, Canada. Small note on the back of the photo states ""#82 'The Forest City' and 3450 Copetown assist engine". #5701 specs - Specs - serial #68395, class K-5-a, 80" drivers, impressive 275 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 356,400 lb, tractive effort of 43,279 lb. After nearly 30 years of service to the CN, the loco was retired and scrapped in March of 1960. #3450 specs - Baldwin built 2-8-2 Mikado, nee-GTW 545, serial #40369, CN class S-1-f, scrapped in February of 1959.
