This loco is showing some heavy wear compared to others in this album. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in July of 1944, the loco was is service only 18 years before being scrapped in September of 1962. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in August of 1944, this 2-8-2 Mikado served until retirement and scrapping in August of 1959 after barely 15 years of service. Specs - serial #71653, P2J class, 63" drivers, 22x32" cylinders, 275 psi boiler pressure, engine weight of 339,000 lb, tractive effort of 57,465 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo but it very well may have been taken by J.R. Quinn.

Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in September of 1948, this is one of the lucky few CP 2-8-2's that was spared the scrapper's torch. After only 15 years in revenue service, it was retired in March of 1963 and donated to the Canadian RR Museum.
