Album Info:Howdy, everybody! Today, I went to another one of the namesake town's of the old AT&SF--Atchison, Kansas. Unlike Topeka, Atchison was not a very important town on the system. In fact, the ATSF didn't even reach it until several years after it had been created, and BNSF no longer has tracks through there. Atchison was a significant railroad town, though, and the Union Pacific still uses it quite a bit. It also has an awesome railroad museum, located downtown at the old Santa Fe Freight House, the only original Santa Fe building still standing. The Atchison Santa Fe passenger station (which replaced Union Station) is still standing, too! Now, all I need is a photograph of the Santa Fe, NM, station...maybe at some point I'll get there. Enjoy viewing! Oh, and if you ever want to visit Atchison, there is plenty of free public parking just north of the tracks.
