Arriving at Farmington
Title:  Arriving at Farmington
Description:  According to a 1904 MEC Public Timetable it is only 1 mile and 4 minutes between West Farmington and Farmington. Accordingly just 2 or 3 minutes ago the train left West Farmington and has just crossed the Sandy River and in a few moments will cross the diamond with the Two Foot Sandy River. The photo is dated c1890. This long pile trestle was filled in and now is vacant but is easily walked to the bridge abutment. The area in the foreground was a ball field when I last visited in 2009. /DL

MEC 132
Title:  MEC 132
Description:  From the back of the print – MeC Engine #132 about 1900 West Farmington Me. Engineer F.R.Brown, Boy unknown. Raymond H.Wyman - who I assume was the photorgrapher. Several other notations indicate this print went through a number of hands before I bought it on eBay. RR History sez MEC #132 was one of the few MEC locomotives that did not go through renumbering in 1900. Built by the Portland Works in May 1891 and scrapped in 1914. Builders #612; Cyl 18x24; Drivers 69inches. /DL

MEC 522
Title:  MEC 522
Description:  There is no info with this photograph, however the scene appears to be taken in Wilton, Maine and is very similar to other perspectives taken by Ray Higgins. The box car is a Boston and Maine and I think the number is 7151. The WigWag is wagging a nice touch to this c1940 scene. MEC Class W1 - ALCO-S No52994 - BLT 2/13 - Sc 5/52 - Cyl 23x28 with 61 inch divers and a 185 lb boiler. /DL
