Dates:11/21/1985 - 7/1/1987
Album Info:I followed this line from about 1975 as a kid to the end in 1987 as the tracks were being removed. This is a set of shots from my last trip chasing the line in November, 1985 right near Thanksgiving as the line was on its last winter of operation. I may add some more pictures to this album of the Danbury Sub before and after this time.

Danbury
Title:  Danbury
Description:  Looking east towards the railroad, you can see the large pile of pine logs awaiting loading. I think the Standard Oil company probably received cars by rail at one time, but pulpwood was the only thing left in the 1970s and 80s.

oops moment by the Soo Line signal dept and WI DOT
Title:  oops moment by the Soo Line signal dept and WI DOT
Description:  I put this rather plain picture in as a lost story about the Soo Line. This set of xing signals was supposed to be placed in downtown Danbury about 5 miles north of here, after a fatal car accident in Danbury finally brought xing signals in. Youd have wondered why someone didnt wonder why there was two sets of heads on the mast, as there was a side road in downtown that they were intended for. Guessing this was a $25,000 or more mistake in the mid 70s when they were put in.
