Description:  The Appalachian Trail crosses the Hudson River on the Bear Mountain Bridge. On the west shore, the A-T passes over CSX's River Line Sub, shown here. On the east shore, the A-T passes over the former NYC main line heading up the river to Albany. The Bear Mt. Bridge is also the lowest point of elevation along the entire 2100-mile Appalachian Trail. View is from the top of Anthony's Nose, a mountain on the east shore of the Hudson River that's accessed by the A-T.

Description:  Locomotives are crossing the Sherman Creek bridge on the sound end of Duncannon. Towards the top right of the picture you can see the highway bridge over the Juniata River, and to the right of that, the larger Clark's Ferry Bridge over the Susquehanna. These are the bridges that the Appalachian trail uses to cross the Juniata and Susquehanna Rivers.
