ME 23
Title:  ME 23
Description:  One of the visitors to this year's URHS Transportation Heritage Festival was the Morristown & Erie's recently acquired and restored GP-7u. Built by EMD as a high nosed GP-7 in 1952 for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway, this unit was later rebuilt to extend its service life on the Santa Fe's lines in the American West. Retired in favor of more modern units, it was sold to the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad of northern Maine and continued to work local freights for both BAR and successor Montreal Maine & Atlantic. Purchased by the M&E at auction last summer, this unit will soon be transferred to the Morristown & Erie's Bayway operation at Linden, NJ.

NYC 4083
Title:  NYC 4083
Description:  Another recent restoration by the URHS, NYC 4083 was one of three units to receive this experimental Century Green paint scheme as a test when the Central was looking for a more simplified look for its trains. Another paint scheme of dark gray was eventually chosen and the A-B-A set of 4083 and two Qthers were the only green units the NYC rostered. Later operating for Penn Central and then NJDOT and NJ Transit, it was one of the few E-units to receive the NJT silver disco stripe scheme as number 4326.
