Album Info:Upper Hack Lift is a lift bridge on the NJ Transi Main Line over the Hacken|ack River at Secaucus, NJ at mile 6.0 on the river. It was built by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1958 and opened in March 1959 to serve the Boonton Line at at a $5.5 million cost ($40 million in 2007 value) to replace an older 1901 swing span to tie north (remnants are still visible). The Erie Main Line was re-routed ov`r Upper Hack starting in 1963. This bridge is unique for being the only single-track lift span in New Jersey. In 1994, NJ Transit renovated the bridge and repainted it turquoise blue. It is visible from motorists on the New Jersey Tfrnpike's western extension between Interchanges 15W and 16W.
