Album Info:This line branches off of the CP's ex-Milwaukee Road main line through Wisconsin (Tomah/Watertown Subdivisions) at Portage and runs south to an interchange with the WSOR at Madison. It was one of the few Milwaukee Road lines to Madison to not go up for abandonment in the 1980s, and thus followed the natural progression MILW-SOO-CP, without being bought by the state and operated by a short line at any point. It is served by a local based out of Portage, usually M-W-F as of the late 2010s.

Not the usual red ECOs
Title:  Not the usual red ECOs
Description:  The four-axle GP20C-ECOs have become extremely common on this line, largely replacing the prior mainstay Soo Line GP38-2s over the past 6-7 years. However, to find six-axle power on the local has been quite unusual.

UP 3064 East, CP coal train 813 for the Columbia Power Plant
Title:  UP 3064 East, CP coal train 813 for the Columbia Power Plant
Description:  Ontario St. (Popenfus') at 1701. I like the imposing look of the Tier 4 units from both GE and EMD. The "throwback" SD70M/AC style windshields and cleaner roof lines on these units compared to their ACe/M-2 predecessors are nice touches.

Labor Day M&P returns north (RR west)
Title:  Labor Day M&P returns north (RR west)
Description:  Caught this by chance while on my way from seeing Pat McCurdy's show at Lucky's Bar in Okee, to Columbus to catch No. 7 with 161 (new 50th Anniversary Phase I heritage unit) leading. This latter part ended up not happening, as the train struck a vehicle near Caledonia and was heavily delayed (fortunately minimal damage to 161, and the moronic driver who went around the gates in front of a 79 MPH Amtrak train somehow cheated Darwin).
