The often referred to (by me) passing lane is visible in the high speed split off the western north-south mainline to the left of the frame. Note the fall colors - not typical for our area, especially since fall/autumn seems to have occurred not only late, but rather mild. (First freezing weather not to hit for another week or two, and were still a foot behind on rainfall for the year, contrary to the puddles in this shot - but not they are puddles, not small creeks or solid sheets of water, more typical for our autumn.) |

UP 5374 - CP 9351 - UP 5524 triple near trio CREX-BNSF-BNSF on the Port of Vancouver / BNSF loop down in the west/northwest sliver of the Vancouver Industrial / Port area where a long line of Canadian Geese quickly waddle away from the insane humanoid out in the pouring rain attempting to snap pictures of trains in the dark a few moments after four oclock in the late afternoon/early evening. (unfortunately no matter how I tried I wasnt able to coax any meaningful data off the CREX trio. Dang. Thought it somewhat humorous to have the Canadian Geese as foreground to Canadian Pacific work-horse. The glowing lights of United Grain in the distance. |

UP 5374 nose to the west-northwest and the reversing loop early evening in the rain and wind (the red appearance in the registry board is potentially that infamous red shift that occurs as objects more quickly away from each other (Doppler effect with light) potentially caused by the photographer trying to stand in one spot while the wind howls blistering splats of rain against him, the poor little pocket snapper camera lens racked out and sensor pushed beyond reason. "Huh? Because its a fun hobby, why do you ask?" |
