The mill complex to the rear is Neenah Foundry (plant 2). Plant 2 is now the only Neenah Foundry plant in Neenah, plant 1 was razed quite some time ago. |

Hamilton was originally known as Ketcham Post Office, with a post office and a railroad station, formed to serve the Hamilton Stone Quarries in 1883. In 1894, Irenus K. Hamilton purchased the land and renamed it Hamilton Post Office. Old foundations can still be found in the treeline along with quite a bit of long out of service trackwork. A little of this track can be seen inside the curve, just above the top fence rail. |

Headed railroad "west", the 2665 leads a train downgrade on Byron Hill towards Fond du Lac. The location is known as Hamilton on detailed maps, in the vicinity of the grade crossing with CTY HWY B (Hamilton Road). Originally formed in 1883, the community was named Ketcham Post Office, named after the first president of the Hamilton Stone Quarries. The quarries are located very near and are quite large to this day. In 1894, Irenus K. Hamilton purchased Ketcham Post Office and the name was changed to Hamilton Post Office. This location had the post office and a railroad station. What seems to be the remnants of the original buildings' foundations still exist in the trees along with buried track long out of service. |

A CN train taking the northeast connecting track from Stevens Point towards Wausau is just about to enter the former Milwaukee Road line. The train will continue north towards Wausau only far enough to clear this turnout with the rear of the train. Once the train is clear of this turnout, it will then reverse direction and back onto the northwest quadrant connecting track. The train will continue this reverse move util it is once again on the former Soo Line R.o.W. facing Stevens Point, having turn itself via the junction. Once on the Soo Line R.o.W., the train will be waiting for a while. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to find out what for, or for which way it would go once it departed. |

The CN road freight on it's way out of Neenah passes under the Main Street overpass. Years ago, the Soo Line station was located in the vicinity of the tree on the right hand side of the photo. |

The CN replaced the CNW swing bridge during 2012 and 2013 with this bascule style bridge. The old bridge was much more picturesque but this new one opens and closes much quicker, allowing for more efficient flow of marine and rail traffic. It is still amazing to see that some boaters still become very annoyed at having to halt their pleasure trips up and down the river between Lake Winnebago and Lake Buttes des Morts for a few minutes as the trains go through. The view is of the east side of the bridge, looking up the Fox River. |
