Reading bridge
Title:  Reading bridge
Description:  Rockville was the best known, but not the only bridge over the Susquehanna at Harrisburg. The line to Hagerstown MD was part Reading Lurgan Branch, and part PRR Hagerstown Branch. This 146 car ENRO, a run through to NS and Roanoke, originated at Enola, did the grand tour of the capital, then went south on this ex Reading line, crossing the ex PRR Rockville Bridge, then back on this ex Reading bridge, reaching it via a connection at CP Capital, where the ex PRR connected with the Reading from Rutherford yard, then out of service.

Different
Title:  Different
Description:  The D&H, as a condition of the Conrail merger, got access to a number of points in the northeasu to foster some level of competition. One of them was Potomac Yard in Alexandria VA, which served to make connections with Southern, now NS, and Chessie, as well as the RF&P. All those would eventually go into CSX. Power from the connections ran through, so it was not unusual to see CSX and NS component diesels on RPPY and PYRP. We see RPPY heading for Virginia on the ex Reading, with the usual CSX and NS power, among them an ex SCL GP 40. It was a daily event, but decidedly different from the steady diet of blue provided by Conrail.
